Long Term Disability Insurance

When employees can’t work, it puts pressure on everyone. Many employers cannot afford to keep an employee on the payroll during his or her extended absence. Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance helps protect you and your employees from the impact of an extended absence due to an illness or injury.

Disabilities come in many forms. An employee may be unable to work for a period of time and then be able to resume regular responsibilities. He or she could also be permanently partially disabled or totally disabled and need support for the rest of his or her life. We have the expertise and resources to assist both you and your employees in all situations.

RETURN TO WORK INCENTIVE

You want your employees to return to work as soon as possible. Employees may receive up to 100% of pre-disability earnings for a limited time if they return to work while partially disabled.

VOLUNTARY REHABILITATION BENEFITS

Employees may choose to participate in our voluntary rehabilitation program. We evaluate how the disability affects current job responsibilities and review possible workplace modifications. Through workstation modification, job redesign, and new technologies, we may be able to enhance their ability to work. Voluntary rehabilitation may also include résumé preparation and job-seeking assistance. While participating in this program, employees may be eligible to receive additional benefits.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)2

This service offers access to thousands of helpful resources for your employees and works to reduce absenteeism and enhance employee productivity. EAP services are offered online to our group disability customers. Employers may also select a face-to-face option.

FICA

For a group with 50+ lives electing FICA matching, we will deposit the company’s and employee’s portions of FICA taxes from taxable benefits paid to claimants and print and email your claimant’s W-2 form for LTD benefits.
